Whose Woods These Are

Why do things out of place cause fear? The mist through the bench could be something left behind. It could be someone's story. Or...it could just be the clouds rolling by. Is a bench just a bench? Is the sky just the sky?

Hugs and Kisses?

On this walk, I was particularly focused on light shining through or around other things.

Never Ending or Beginning

Capturing movement in circular motion became my focus.

Drift Strategy

This second walk was also done in the Madison area. I wanted to do something different though, so instead of being in the heart of the city, I chose more scenic surroundings. Beginning at a public park near a sheep farm, I traveled zig zag across the road every time I passed a mail box, sometimes exploring further off the road in that direction. When I reached an intersection, I would alternate turning left and right. Going farther into the country side where there weren't as many mailboxes, I would pick other common things, like political yard signs, to tell me when to cross. I wasn’t sure if this would give me the best results, but it ended up being interesting because sometimes what was on one side of the road was completely different than the other. For example, I was led to a lone windmill in the middle of a field, while the other side of the road hosted a busy pumpkin sale. The windmill was probably my favorite image captured because I came across another one once I got close to town again.
